Terpsichore
4-channel Intelligent VCA / Signal Animator

The design of this module initially emerged from a desire to pan through a 3-dimensional space (like the one we find in Worng Electronics’ SoundStage mixer and ALM’s Jumble Henge). A microprocessor drives four interrelated optocoupler-based VCAs, allowing for a variety of modulation options that can send 1 to 4 separate audio or control voltage signals dancing across a system. A four-channel phase shifting internal digital Low-Frequency Oscillator, and a series of ‘sequencers’ or sequential switches (including Euclidean rhythms and random sequences) also allow for experimentations in isolating rhythms and movement from otherwise static signals. A few more blocks of code to write, some hardware tweaks and further testing are in order before this module is complete (chip/component shortage is also a factor). (14hp)

Probably sometime early 2022.
